The following video, which shows an obvious chemtrail in the sky, was shot in Bluff on January the 28th, 2012 by Joel Ryan. This area does not have passenger planes passing over it, which makes it somewhat difficult for the debunkers who claim that every chemtrail is a condensation trail from a passenger plane.

Its very likely a flight from Ausy to south America. You could narrow it down if you wanted to put a little effort into it without just jumping on the chemtrail bandwagon. Infact we have seen photos of this same flight path in the past on this site.
So yes that area does not have passenger planes passing over it.
