Thank you for the support. The idea around this website was to focus on the issues and the information flow to the people relating to the rebuild of our city after the 7.1 quake in September 2010.
Now in February 2011 we have a bigger issue at hand. The level of destruction is 500% more than the first and we have a mammoth task ahead. Tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people are going to be displaced from their homes and from the employment. The scale of this is more than anyone can imagine in New Zealand.
It is very important for constant information.

What we found after the 7.1 quake, after the media all leave the city and focus on the next breaking story, the information flow stops. People get complacent and forget about the people. The government organizations, who actually were working hard behind the scenes are not very good at delivering the information to the people who need it.
This is what Rebuild Christchurch was designed for. To keep a constant supply of information flowing to the public of Christchurch.

The task is so great now that its more important than ever and I will need help along the way to keep the information flowing up to date, but we have to start somewhere and any assistance and support will be greatly appreciated.

I have lost my home, I have now lost my business, but I am focused on retaining the information flow to the public.
Thank you for sharing this link to your network.

    Kind Regard

Thank-you Deon. I am very sorry to hear what has happened to you also. Rose advises me that she has been very impressed with the work you have been doing. You are well informed she says and you can provide more in depth information than the mainstream media.

Our condolences to you and yours. To loose your home and business all in one moment is beyond comprehension for most. If you need to get away for a break we’d be happy to assist you having access to a couple of holiday homes here in Kaikoura. Give you a brake from the fear ‘frequency’ that is engulfing Christchurch and its surrounding districts currently. After having an influx of Cantabrians to our area there was a panic buy. Our local supermarket was left bare of the essentials but they seem to be slowly filling shelves. Water and loo paper were the first to go, our supermarkets have restrictions on water purchase’s allowing only 2 per customer but our 1 operating petrol station is business as usual (with a huge price hike).

I completely hear what you are saying about when the main stream media interest wanes. Suddenly people are left grasping for information and the government organizations, corporates (ie insurance companies) are overwhelmed and the information doesn’t get out to the people who need it. This period is the danger zone. People are exhausted, rattled and unless they are forceful and persistent, getting answers to their questions/needs go unheeded. Despair takes hold and then before you know it they are lining up for pharmaceuticals to numb the pain.

It is time to step up and take full responsibility for our families and friends, our life changing situations. A community effort is the kiwi way and it is beyond heart warming to see the efforts people are making to accommodate the sudden changes/challenges before us. When the bright lights of the media move on to another fear feast, we will be here hold a higher vibration for the people of Christchurch.

Count me in mate, anything we can do to assist, consider it done.

A huge thanks to you for channeling your energy into something worthwhile. Much respect.
