From where I stood in Woodhill, Whangarei at 8.32am, the sky over Whangarei was blue and clear, apart from this trail left in a north-to-south orientation in the east. A second photo was taken at about 8.57am to show how this trail had lingered. It does not show up well in the photos unfortunately. To the debunkers, if the conditions are right for condensation trails, where are the clouds?
I checked out Flightradar24.com and the only plane that showed up as being a likely candidate was Air NZ 90, a flight from Tokyo heading to Auckland.
As the morning progressed more trails were seen -trails that had spread out and were covering a large area.
We received two phone calls from locals to tell us of what they were seeing too. Thank-you.
At 3pm, the sky above Whangarei was thick with aerosol material on the 15th of Nov, 2013. I got a call at about 2.55pm from a local who was concerned at the amount of material up there also. Thank-you Gail.
